MSU Global is filling a vacancy for our Communications Manager position. The person in this position will be responsible for developing and enhancing the reputation of MSU Global and our partner projects.
MOOCs in conjunction with live global events produce interesting results. Faculty members Mark Wilson, Eva Kassens-Noor and Lisa Robinson recently completed a MOOC that was offered in parallel with the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. They are also in the planning stages for another MOOC beginning June 2014 that will run in conjunction with the 2014 Soccer World Cup.
As part of its efforts to showcase the importance of the arts to inspiring innovation, MSU Global is hosting a public event for two exhibits currently on display in the MSU Global’s gallery space from 3:30-5:30 p.m. March 11.
Gwyn Shelle, MSUglobal assistant director, production, recently spoke at the launch event for a Gender in Agriculture E-Learning course in Washington D.C. The course is the result of a collaboration between the World Bank and Michigan State University and will be freely accessible under a creative commons license to anyone interested in gender-related topics in agriculture and rural development.
Michigan State University and Open Educational Resources (OER) Africa are working in partnership with the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), a group of 32 universities in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa aimed at overseeing graduate training and networks of specialization in Africa, to strengthen their graduate student participatory action research while at the same time developing student-created open educational resources for RUFORUM degree programs.
MSUglobal Knowledge and Learning Innovations is pleased to continue the second year of our MSUglobal Innovation Fellows Program. MSUglobal is now accepting nominations for the 2014-15 academic year. Up to three faculty, or faculty teams, will be selected. Please feel free to contact Dr. Christine Geith, MSUglobal executive director and MSU assistant provost, to share your nominations or you may direct your faculty to our online form to have them complete our application. The deadline for applications is March 14, 2014. Faculty will be notified no later than April 1, 2014.

MSUglobal has participated in two discussions in January related to badges and credentialing learning at Michigan State University and is hosting a third discussion in February.
